研究方向：

系统调查了海盆尺度上大洋（特别是深海）浮游病毒的生态特性，研究了病毒对海洋浮游细菌类群的影响，以及病毒对典型海洋细菌多样性、进化和环境适应的贡献，阐明了病毒发挥其生态效应的过程和机制，揭示了病毒在海洋生态系统和海洋生物地球化学循环中的作用。
