Blue Ribbon Ocean Conservation Association (BROCA) believes that the civil society organizations can ultimately arouse the social responsibility and the sense of mission of the public, for expanding the ocean conservation group. Because of a unified values and mission, in collaboration with universities, enterprises, army and volunteers, BROCA has established a national-wide ocean conservation network. It has been set up 35 volunteer teams at present. Through our efforts, tens of thousands of people have participated in beach cleanup and environmental conservation education activities each year all over the country. Over the past years, we have completed a series of coastal surveys and studies. The data obtained during these surveys and studies provides a basis for communicating with stakeholders and for planning marine conservation activities. In addition, based on results of surveys and analysis, we design different publicity schemes for different target audience groups in public education. Meanwhile, BROCA also devotes to marine ecological conservation and restoration, etc. In a word, as a non-profit NGO, BROCA dedicates to ocean education and awareness raising, marine debris clean-up, coastal ecosystem conservation and the promotion of developing a non-governmental ocean conservation network in China.
