Net community production (NCP) play an important role in modeling the efficiency of biological pump. NCP was firstly determined by a profiling Bio-Argo using O2 mass balance model in the southern basin of SCS thought the annual cycle. Annual NCP yielded 2.7 ¡À1.2 mol C m-2 yr-1 in the upper layer (56m) from 11 July 2014 to 11 July 2015, comparable with previous estimation of annual NCP. Seasonal cycle of daily NCP was displayed with high NCP values during the winter of enhancement of mixing activity and short-term net heterotrophy state presented when the mixed-layer shoaled in the summer. Comparison with the satellite-derived NCP revealed that CbPM was close to magnitude of NCP whereas VGPM was prone to better shape the seasonal cycle of NCP in the this area. The implication showed that the more caution should be taken to determine geographic NCP estimation using satellite approach.
