Cost

We have defined the information on costs into the following sections:

Ø  Registration Fee

Payment of the registration fee of 450euros (3510RMB) will be required from each student. This covers:

l   Lunches and coffee breaks on teaching days

l   Buffet and drinks during the evening poster sessions

l   Dinner on one of the day of the school

l   Accommodation

l   Access to internet room at MEL

l   On-site transport required by the school programme

l   Organised bus from and to Xiamen airport on arrival and departure days

l  Your own copy of the SOLAP textbook

      How to pay?

You can either transfer the registration fee to Xiamen University before the school dates, or pay the fee on-site by cash or credit card when you arrive in Xiamen.

IMPORTANT: Please leave a message saying the money is the registration fee for SOLAS Summer School, and the name of the participant. When you have done the transfer, please send the secretariat (solas2013@xmu.edu.cn) a scanned copy of your bank transfer record.

Ø  Travel

This table gives you the approximate cost of return travel between Xiamen and relevant countries, in RMB.

Ø  Subsistence

You should budget for around 10-80 RMB a day for an evening meal, as we will provide lunch at MEL (except on our rest day; see 'Schedule' webpage within our 'Programme' drop-down menu).

Ø  Accommodation

Accommodation at the Caiqingjie Building on campus of Xiamen University will be booked for all attendees. (see 'Accommodation' webpage within the 'Logistics' drop-down menu for further details). Accommodation will ONLY be available the nights of 22 August till 2 September inclusive. The cost of accommodation will be covered in the registration fee. If you intend to arrive early or depart late from the school, you have to notify the LOC 2 months before the School, and you need to take care of your own costs for the extra nights.
