Who should join?
Doctoral, Master and Undergraduate students in the areas of Ecotoxicology, Chemistry, Biology and Environmental Sciences, from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia are welcome.
Student Registration:
l A complete application form, an updated CV, a personal statement of research interests should be submitted to the organizing committee (carrie_lee@xmu.edu.cn).
l A reference letter from advisor/supervisor is needed.
l The Organizing Committee will decide on studentship award to students attending the workshop.
l Selected students are encouraged to give oral and/or poster presentations related to their research work, and actively participated in Q & A, and discussions in the lectures.
Studentship Award:
Studentship awards, granted to by the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science (MEL, Xiamen University) and the MERIT (Area of Excellence, HK), are available for about 40 students attending the course. This is to subsidize the travel cost, accommodation and meals during the summer course period in Xiamen.
Deadline for Studentship application is 20 May, 2009.
Outstanding Student Award:
In order to encourage excellence, the Summer Course is offering prizes for outstanding students. The Summer Course Committee will convene a panel of judges to identify the best students based on students’ performance during the course. Prizes will be awarded at the Closing Ceremony on the 15 July, 2009.
