实验室现有固定研究人员63人，其中教授43人，副教授18人、助理教授2人；另有技术人员33人，研究助理60人，行政人员7人。实验室拥有中国科学院院士2人，国家高层次人才9人（其中国家高层次青年人才3人），特聘教授15人，国家杰出青年科学基金获得者6人。此外，实验室的一批年轻骨干队伍正在健康成长，已有国家优秀青年科学基金获得者5人，教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”入选者8人，福建省杰出青年基金获得者3人。实验室还拥有2个国家自然科学基金创新研究群体、1个科技部重点领域创新团队和1个教育部创新团队。

MEL has developed a hardworking research team with integrity and innovation. At present, the lab has 63 fulltime research members, including 2 Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 15 Chair Professors, 6 grantees of the NSFC Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Additionally, 5 young scientists received grants under the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund.
MEL has 2 Innovative Research Groups funded by the NSFC, 1 Innovative Team funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and another Group sponsored by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
