专家简介:

Prof. in Aquatic Environment; Senior Researcher; Head of Aquatic Ecology Dept.; Iranian Fisheries Science Research Institute (IFSRI). His research interests are: determination of various types of contaminants (especially heavy metals) in different components of aquatic ecosystems; use of aquatic organisms as biomonitors and bioindicators of pollutants; use of mollusc shells as biochronometers (sclerochronology) of marine pollution and environmental changes; use of biosorbents for heavy metals removal from aquatic environments; applications of elemental fingerprinting of fish species for their stock discrimination as well as their biomonitoring potential assessment.

报告摘要:

In general, understanding the trends of environmental changes in aquatic ecosystems, from the past to the present, is a valuable tool to gain a deeper insight into their dynamic aspects. Without a clear understanding of how the environments have changed over time, it is difficult to interpret any changes currently occurring, or to make predictions about the future. An innovative approach that is promising in overcoming the limitations of traditional monitoring methods is the analysis of the shells of mollusks living in the bed, especially in areas affected by human activities. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the capability of the bivalve shell growth increments as well as the sedimentary layers as potential proxies for the temporal changes of major and trace elements as well as some environmental parameters in the study area.
