Abstract:

The oceanic responses to mesoscale processes in the Middle Atlantic Bight (MAB) are investigated using multi-sensor data including in-situ measurements, satellite observations and reanalysis data. Two study cases are given including the evolution of chlorophyll concentration in a large phytoplankton bloom and the depressed cross-shelf sea level anomaly induced by the underwater cold pool.
