Two Bio-Argo floats (Sea Bird Navis BGCi) were delivered to MEL in April, 2014 and were deployed in the vicinity of SEATS site in the northern South China Sea (SCS) on June 26 and Central SCS Basin on July 10, respectively. Sensors carried on Bio-Argo includes CTD, dissolved oxygen, bio-optical package (chlorophyll fluorescence, CDOM fluorescence and backscattering). The float is able to dive between surface and 2000 m by adjusting its buoyancy. Data were transmitted via Iridium satellite when it is at the surface. Up to December, data of more than one hundred profiles have been collected.
