Lingfeng Forum #57: Microbial Oceanography
Updated on:2016-12-2      Visits:1650

Convener: Prof. Nianzhi Jiao

Venue: Zhou-Long Quan A3-206

Date: December 5, 2016 (Monday)

Microorganisms are recognized as an important agent of biogeochemical cycling in the ocean because of their high abundance and high genetic and metabolic diversity. Microbial oceanography is one of the emerging field in ocean science and geoscience. This workshop focuses on the recent progress of microbial oceanography in the world and in China. Particularly, we will show the critical role of microorganisms in regulating marine carbon cycling and their responses/feedback to climate change or ecological problems, which is highly concerned by China. We encourage the contribution from young scientists to the forum.
