Travel and Visa Information


Travel:

There are a number of means of travelling to Xiamen depending upon where you are located and your budget. For international flights, we recommend you get to Xiamen by transferring from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Book as early as possible as Xiamen is a popular tourist city.

You are expected to arrive on June 7th and depart on June 11th 2016. The reserved accommodation will ONLY be available the nights of June 7th till June June 10th inclusive. If you plan to arrive early or depart late, please notify the secretariat of your schedule and you will have to pay the extra stays.

 

Visa Application: 

Visitors to China, without exception, must have a passport valid for at least six months and most nationalities need an entry visa.

Please apply for an F (Business) visa from your nearest Embassy or Consulate of the People’s Republic of China. Early application is highly recommended.

An invitation letter issued by the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science, Xiamen University, which is considered as a formal invitation letter for visa application will be sent to you by email as soon as your course application is accepted and confirmed. 

We recommend you to give us the complete visa application information visa email if you need a visa letter. The information includes: your nationality, full name on passport, date of birth, passport number, the intended date of entry and stay period. A scanned copy of your passport is preferred for the ease of paper work.
